USCIS has announced that they are expanding their premium processing service for individuals who are filing Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, and are seeking a change of status to F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, or J-2 nonimmigrant status. Under this expansion. applicants now have the option to file their request for premium processing online using Form I-907, which is the Request for Premium Processing Service. USCIS has provided a timeline for this expansion.
Here's what you need to know about this expansion of premium processing:
- Starting from June 13, 2023, USCIS will be accepting Form l-907 requests for applicants who have a pending Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, and are seeking a change of status to F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, or J-2 status.
- From June 26, 2023, USCIS will also accept Form I-907 requests for applicants who are seeking a change of status to F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, or J-2 status when filed together with Form I-539.
Please note that this phase of premium processing is specifically available for change of status requests. It's important to keep in mind that applicants will still need to complete the biometrics submission before the premium processing can begin for these specific categories.
